Meta WhatsApp charges
This is the part merchants miss most often: your OrderPing bill and your Meta bill are separate. Here’s how Meta’s side works.
Two bills, not one
- OrderPing charges for the app (the monthly plan you pick on Shopify Billing).
- Meta charges for each WhatsApp conversation, billed to the payment method on your WhatsApp Business Account.
How Meta bills
Meta bills per conversation, not per message. A conversation is a 24-hour window that opens when you (or the customer) send the first message. Any additional messages inside that window don’t add cost.
OrderPing sends Utility category conversations — the cheaper rate tier compared to Marketing.

Rates change and vary by country. For the current official numbers see Meta’s WhatsApp pricing page. Examples for Utility conversations (approximate, in USD):
- India: ≈ $0.004 per conversation
- UAE: ≈ $0.034 per conversation
- Saudi Arabia: ≈ $0.031 per conversation
- Indonesia: ≈ $0.014 per conversation
Typical monthly Meta cost
For a store doing 300 COD confirmations a month in India, expect roughly $1.20/mo in Meta charges on top of your OrderPing plan. For UAE at the same volume, closer to $10/mo.
